Top 5 Hardest Games

First of all, I'm going to list the facts:

1. I suck at video games.

Now that that's out of the way, time for the TOP FIVE HARDEST GAMES...that I've played. So most of them are probably by no means hard.

5. Persona 4

"Aww look, a baby with a flower. Y'know why this game is hard? Because I just can't bring myself to kill babies and flowers!"

That's what I would say if I had any qualms about totally wrecking that baby and its flower. I totally destroyed it, you guys would be proud.

The difficulty in this game comes in the form of time management. You go to school, hang out with your friends, and of course you also kill things and rescue people from television. However, you have to choose between hanging out with your friends OR going into the TV to save people or level up. Unfortunately, oftentimes the former is prioritized, as hanging out with your friends makes your personas (they're a bit like pokémon) stronger.

Now, I'm sure most people didn't actually have a hard time with this game. I don't think it's actually a hard game if you play it correctly. I, however, spent so much time trying to increase my stats and social links that I came into the dungeons drastically underleveled, and even normal battles took quite a bit of luck to get through. One wrong move in any battle and there's a good chance you'll be at a huge disadvantage in this game.

On the bright side though, you get to fight babies sometimes. That's one thing off my bucket list!

4. Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories

I would first like to apologize for not actually using a more descriptive image (this pic's from KH2FM+ anyway), but I really like Zexion and his face is a good example of my face when I think about this game. I hate this game.

Now I think I can safely say that this is a pretty hard game, at least by KH standards (which honestly isn't saying much). When I think about Kingdom Hearts, I think about how when I play KH2 I feel like a god because I just tear through enemies like it's the Subspace Emissary.

What I don't think about is tediously running away from enemies as I reload my deck, getting rushed by bosses and being unable to block their severe onslaughts, and having my combos interrupted because some enemy on the other end of the battlefield played a 0 when I played a 9. This game's convoluted story and awesome characters are complimented by some serious tedious gameplay that relies on some strategy, some running away, and some hope that your combos aren't broken and you still have some 9s left when Marluxia casts doom on you.

3. Shovel Knight

This game brings back memories. Memories of pain and death. This game's awesome, though. To me, this game's what everyone says Dark Souls is: A game where if you mess up, it's on you. I can safely say that almost every time I messed up, it was on me. Timing is everything in Shovel Knight. Gotta time your jumps! Gotta time your attacks! Gotta time your jumping over the enemy attacks! You charge in recklessly, you'll probably bite the dust. You use the mechanics to your advantage, you'll be bouncing off of cannonballs, looting tons of treasure, and stabbing enemies in the head like it's the ending to Wind Waker. It's one of those games where you have to learn from mistakes. Countless mistakes.

1. Super Mario Bros 2/Lost Levels

This game is so hard! Why is this game so hard?! Japan was right, this game is too hard for Americans (at least this American). 2D platformers have always given me tons of trouble, and this game requires a level of skill and precision that I just can't keep up with, and that's without all of the surprises and enemies. This game feels like playing MacGuyver in that somehow, you gotta make do with what little you have. Anyone who's beaten this game is a true champion of platforming and has my eternal respect.
